LATEST UPDATE: 16th October
Following on from the ballot results an emergency dispute resolution was called with LU to try and get some progress on making real progress on the control centre. RMT listed out all the issues with the Control Centre to Directors & Management of London Underground covering every single problem we have the building and the way it’s managed and reps aren’t consulted or even spoken to.
LU promised to take on our feedback and act on it but at this time all we received was another wishy washy letter not setting forward any solid plans, dates or funding guarantees. Predominantly LU seem very keen to bodge job their way out of this with cheap remedies that aren’t fit for purpose, RMT have responded with all the main issues they missed. Not listening to staff feedback; investing in proper fixes or setting out any set dates when the work will be done (properly) with robust plans.
Following a members meeting it is felt LU is not delivering any tangible resolutions to the appalling situation at HSCC and the NEC have been informed to further progress this dispute acting on members request.

RMT RESPONSE TO LU - 13th October
Thank you for your response dated 13th October regarding our members’ concerns of the working conditions at Hammersmith SCC.
Whilst we welcome the positive steps being taken a number of key issues and questions that were raised at the Dispute Resolution on the 5th October haven’t been addressed.
1. Due Diligence Report – We require a copy of this report
2. TBC Dates – We require set dates for completion of works
3. Funding – We have concerns how this project will be funded, and require guarantees it will be funded from start to completion and for which aspects of the project
4. Consultation – We require robust and on-going consultation via physical or virtual meetings with our local reps (Service Control & SSM) throughout the process from start to finish with a set agreement of how and when these will take place
5. Project Manager – When will they be in place, for how long, what will their roles, responsibilities & targets be, how will they work with and consult local reps
6. Additional Facilities & Staff Move In Date – We believe the start date for these works will be too late for completion prior to next staff move in. We require a guarantee the building will not be further populated until improved facilities works have been completed.
I have to advise you that I am tasked to report back to the NEC by the end of this week therefore I look forward to your reply as soon as possible via email regarding the above.
